Ruhedruck und Entspannungsbewegungen Ueberkonsolidierter Boeden. Zum Einfluss Negativer Porenwasserspannungen auf die Standsicherheit von Einschnittsboeschungen in Ueberkonsolidierten Boeden (Pressure and Tension-Reducing Movements of Over-Consolidated Soils. On the Influence of Negative Interstitial Water Tension on the State of Cutting Slopes' Safety in Over-Consolidated Soils)

Abstract

In the first section one finds the results of tests to measure horizontal stresses in over-consolidated soils. The measurements have shown that the theorem for in situ effective horizontal stress based on the friction angle may not always be valid for plastic soils. The second section deals with calculating the factor of safety of cutting slopes in over-consolidated, fine-grained soils: earth pressure at rest, the swelling and reduction of strength, and negative pore water pressure. Mechanically simple sliding mechanisms have been used in this study to counter constant shearing parameters.
