An IEEE-1394 Based Outlet for Home Automation and Health Care Networks

Abstract

This paper describes a new outlet intended for a future home and/or office network based on the IEEE-1394 serial bus. The new outlet has been built and tested. Several units can be distributed throughout the home to provide high-speed inter connection among various systems designed for home automation and/or health care applications.
