Real Time Supervisors and Monitors for Performing Health Monitoring and Fault Detection for Systems Operating in Multiple Regimes

Abstract

In this Phase I STTR, SMI and ARL have developed a Real Time Supervisor for fault detection and system reconfiguration in a team of micro UAVs, that are tasked to perform a team mission like surveillance or rendezvous. We have developed a flexible, scalable and hierarchical architecture that will embed intelligence into the UAVs and enable them to detect functional level faults within them and enable team and mission reconfiguration to compensate for the fault. The architecture has been populated with intelligence and algorithms to enable these functions.
