Does c-Abl Play a Role in Brca1 Protein Complex Regulation?

Abstract

C-Abl and BRCA1 have certain overlaps that have led us to speculate of a functional relationship. In murine knockout studies each gene deficiencies affects spermatogenesis at the same stage of differentiation. In addition numerous nuclear proteins have been shown to interact both with c-Abl and BRCA1. In fact a recent publication points to a direct interaction resulting an association that can be disrupted by ionizing radiation.
