Attentive Sensing

Abstract

This report is the final progress report for a project whose goal is to examine a class of problems related to the effective allocation of sensing resources in situations involving tunable sensors, configurable sensor suites, or constraints in communication bandwidth and processing resources. We characterized the performance of optimal and suboptimal sensor allocation strategies for target location and detection problems. We have also implemented and characterized the performance of a target tracking algorithm that uses a configurable foveal sensor.
