Radiation Hybrid Mapping of Canine BACs

Abstract

Our proposal focused on the placement of several hundred Bacterial Artificial Chromosome (BAC) clones on the canine genome map, with the stated goal of developing resources needed for positional cloning of canine disease genes and genes important in mammalian morphology and development. This resource will prove invaluable in the mapping genes that are of interest to human health and biology including those associated with phenotypic variation. Towards this end we have now produced sequence from one or both ends of 4374 BACs.
