Advanced Improved Performance Research Integration Tool (IMPRINT) Vetronics Technology Test Bed Model Development
Abstract
A researcher at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory built advanced improved Performance Research Integration Tool (IMPRINT) models of the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Vetronics Technologies Test Bed (VTT) soldier-machine interface (SMI) simulator. These models allow the TACOM system designers and contractors to determine a number of soldier-related issues without modifying the VTT SMI itself. Specifically, TACOM system designers and contractors can use these advanced IMPRINT models to determine which crew members should do which functions and tasks, as well as where automation would benefit the crew members, and optimum placement of controls and displays.
