2003 IDA Cost Research Symposium: Cost of Evolutionary Acquisition/Spiral Development

Abstract

Every year, at the IDA Cost Research Symposium, the OSD's Cost Analysis Improvement Group (CAIG) meets with representatives from of other offices and organizations involved in defense-related cost research to discuss ongoing and planned cost studies. Selected government offices, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and military universities are among the organizations represented. The theme of the 2003 IDA Cost Research Symposium was the cost of evolutionary acquisition/spiral development. This document contains presentations made by symposium panel members on various topics related to the theme. Included are individual service assessments of DoD's capabilities to estimate related costs. The summaries of current and planned cost research projects at the offices and organizations that participated in this year's symposium are contained in an appendix.
