Advanced Optical Limiter Materials

Abstract

This final report summarizes research on the synthesis, characterization and evaluation of phthalocyanine and phenanthralocyanine compounds with peripheral siloxane substitution. These materials are intrinsic liquids, have very low degrees of dye aggregation and significant merit for the optical limiting application. The phthalocyanine is better qualified than the phenanthralocyanine for this application.
