Business Plan for the Creation of a National Center of Excellence for Alcohol Septal Ablation at Ben Taub General Hospital

Abstract

This project provides a business plan for establishing an international center of excellence for alcohol septal ablation at Ben Taub General Hospital. Alcohol septal ablation is a new treatment for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, which impacts approximately one in every five hundred individuals. The procedure involves the injection of ethanol alcohol into the left ventricle creating a controlled heart attack. This business plan provides a market analysis, volume forcast, staffing projections, and financial analysis. The five-year cumulative return on this project is approximately $5.4 million. Concluding analysis reveals the center of excellence can achieve profitability at the end of the first year of operations.
