November 2003 Status of Forces Survey of Active-Duty Members Tabulations of Responses

Abstract

The Status of Forces Surveys (SOFS) program is the Web-based component of the Human Resource Strategic Assessment Program (HRSAP) administered by DMDC for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSDP&R). HRSAP is designed to measure the attitudes and opinions of the entire DoD community--active and Reserve Service members, their families and DoD civilian--on the full range of personnel issues. Per the long-term content plan for active-duty SOFS, the topics to be covered in the November 2003 survey were OPS/PERSTEMPO, PCS moves, readiness, and off-duty education for Service members. In this tabulation volume are an introduction to the survey, cross tabulations of the resulting data on a series of demographic variables of interest to the various policy offices within OUSD(P&R), and a copy of the actual survey items. Results are tabulated by Service, paygrade, location, education, race/ethnicity, family status, gender, and Service further broken out by paygrade.
