October 2003 Status of Forces Survey of DoD Civilians: Tabulations of Responses

Abstract

The Status of Forces Surveys (SOFS) program is the Web-based component of the Human Resource Strategic Assessment Program (HRSAP) administered by DMDC for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSDP&R). HRSAP is designed to measure the attitudes and opinions of the entire DoD community--active and Reserve Service members, their families and DoD civilians on a wide range of personnel issues. The October 2003 SOFS of DoD civilians was the first survey of civilians in this program. The overarching topics for this survey were satisfaction and retention. This tabulation volume contains an introduction to the survey, cross tabulations of the resulting data on a series of demographic variables of interest to various policy offices within OUSD(P&R), and a copy of the survey. Results are tabulated by categories defined by component, pay plan/grade, occupational group, supervisor/manager status, schedule/location, type of appointment, bargaining unit status, disability status, veteran/preference status, retirement plan, retirement eligibility, length of service, age, gender, race/ethnicity, and education.
