Impacts of Euhrychiopsis lecontei (Dietz) from Different Populations on the Growth and Nutrition of Eurasian Watermilfoil

Abstract

This technical note provides information on the potential effects of the native weevil Euhrychiopsis lecontei on growth of Eurasian watermilfoil. Weevil impacts are identified based on evaluations of plant biomass, shoot height, and plant tissue nutrient characteristics. Populations of weevils from different geographical locations were tested and all proved to be of potential value to Corps biocontrol efforts.
