Sacramento Metropolitan Area, California

Abstract

This Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (FR/EIS/EIR) describes the results of studies on flooding problems along the Sacramento River and Yolo Bypass from the Sacramento Weir downstream to an area just south of Freeport (see Plate A). The study area is located along the Sacramento River, in Yolo County, California, and is not included in the American River Watershed Investigation. The report also identifies a Selected Plan to reduce the potential flood threat to the West Sacramento area. The report includes a main report, EIS/EIR and appendices. The non-Federal sponsor of the study is the State of California. Public and agency comments on the draft report and the proposed plan have been solicited in the draft report and have been used to develop the Selected Plan. The report will be submitted to the Congress for construction authorization.
