Improved Control Authority in Flexible Structures Using Stiffness Variation

Abstract

This is the final progress report for AFOSR Contract #F49620-03-1-0184, funded during the period Apr-December 2003. It summarizes the work done towards development of a new approach to vibration control of flexible structures. The main goal of this research is to improve control authority in structural systems through methodical stiffness variation, specifically, using end forces, such as follower forces.
