ITCS: The Technical M&S Infrastructure for Supporting the SBA Process

Abstract

The DGA (General Directorate for Armaments) has been actively involved in simulation-based acquisition these past years. This needs defining new processes, applying standards and developing adequate tools. This paper addresses the latter: we will present the Joint Technical Simulation Architecture (ITCS, in French), which is currently specified and should be deployed shortly. Its main objective is on the one hand to federate the various simulations currently in use within the DGA for the various phases of the lifecycle of a program. On the other hand, capitalisation and configuration management processes of the data and models for SBA will be included in the ITCS. In this article, we will present the keystones of the project and we will compare it with other initiatives which it will have to be interfaced with: first, the data and model repository developed under an EUCLID contract by most European governmental and industrial partners; second the simulation resource library studied by the NMSG.
