U.S. Army War College: Key Strategic Issues List

Abstract

The Global War on Terrorism is now in its third year, and the U.S. Army is at the center of its prosecution. Afghanistan and Iraq s maturing counterinsurgency campaigns and continuing stability and reconstruction efforts serve as catalysts for the ever-shifting strategic environment. The Strategic Studies Institute (SSI) provides the Key Strategic Issues List (KSIL) to inform the efforts of national security researchers as they prepare studies to help the Army and other elements of the Department of Defense better plan for and perform their many essential missions, now and in the future.
