Beam Clean-Up and Combining via Stimulated Scattering in Liquid Crystals

Abstract

Orientational stimulated scattering from o-wave into e-wave in liquid crystal may combine coherent beams or modes of amplifier(s) into diffraction-limited output. In experiment a 1000 micron liquid crystal layer transmitted undistorted o-wave with low attenuation.
