Center of Excellence for Propulsion Systems at the Engine Research Center

Abstract

This project began August 1, 2000, and involves faculty and students at three institutions (University of Wisconsin-Madison, Michigan Technical University, and the University of Minnesota) in three research thrust areas are: transient engine experiments, engine simulation and powertrain modeling, and detailed chemical characterization of diesel engine exhaust. A detailed description of the progress to-date in each of these thrust areas in the following pages, with a separate section for each of the thrusts. The initial program period ended July 31, 2003, and we were give a one-year no-cost extension to July 31, 2004.
