The Automated Dredging and Disposal Alternatives Modeling System (ADDAMS)

Abstract

This technical note describes the current capabilities and availability of the Automated Dredging and Disposal Alternatives Modeling System (ADDAMS). The Automated Dredging and Disposal Alternatives Modeling System (ADDAMS) is an interactive personal computer (PC)-based design and analysis system for dredged material management. ADDAMS is composed of individual modules or applications, each of which has computer programs designed to assist in the evaluation of a specific aspect of a dredging project. The system was created in response to requests by Corps field offices for tools to rapidly evaluate dredged material management alternatives. The objective of ADDAMS is to provide state-of-the-art computer-based tools that will increase the accuracy, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of Corps dredged material management activities in a timely manner.
