HBCU Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Abstract

During the grant/fellowship period of 2002-2004, Corey Ellison worked directly under Principal Investigator Geoffrey Collier in a number of areas related to his research interests. The first of these areas involved work correlating the individual differences in the ability to identify simple pitch patterns with reading scores. The reading scores were created using a test of homophone identification, which has been shown to predict general reading capacity. Corey was involved in the running of this experiment, which involved administering the reading tests and the computerized pitch pattern test.
