Defending Against Terrorism - Is It Bankrupting America?

Abstract

In a videotaped message aired by Al-Jeezera in late October, 2004, Osama bin Laden stated, "We are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy." Will the United States' efforts to secure its homeland cause bankruptcy? What is our strategy? Is it sound? What is it costing the American taxpayer? Can we afford it?
