Acquisition: Contract Award and Administration for Modular Causeway Systems

Abstract

The overall audit objective was to determine whether contract award and administration policies and procedures were properly followed for the acquisition of the MCS. Specifically, we evaluated contract award and administration of the May 2001 modular causeway systems, connector reliability and safety of the connectors used to fasten components of the modular causeway system together, materiel release of the four subsystem of the modular causeway system, and Federal funds management. See the Finding section for a discussion of the four categories of allegations and audit results.
