Cybertherapy 2004: Using Interactive Media in Training and Therapeutic Interventions

Abstract

The 9th Annual CyberTherapy Conference was originally held as part of the Medicine Meets Virtual Reality Conference, beginning in 1996 with a half-day symposium, and a few presentations mostly concerning conceptual matters and future possibilities. I am happy to report that after 9 years, we have progressed to a three-day conference, accompanied by a full day of pre-conference workshops on specialty topics. This conference encompasses the largest collection of clinical trials for advanced technologies in mental health, rehabilitation, and disabilities. It is our specific intention to bring together the best clinicians and researchers with representatives from funding agencies that are interested in applying advanced technologies to improve health care.
