High-Voltage and High-Power Multi-Power Source

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking University of Loughborough as follows: The contractor will develop a method of generating multiple high-power and high-voltage pulses, from the single discharge of a capacitor source, with the pulses produced by an array of specially designed exploding wires. It will mainly be concerned with the development of a detailed computer model based on equations of state that describe fully the magnetohydrodynamic processes inside the wire, but will also involve verification of the model using an existing experimental facility.
