The National Center for Collaboration in Medical Modeling and Simulation

Abstract

This project demonstrates the objective value of medical simulations as training tools for use by military medical personnel in training for tasks that are relevant to the effective and efficient medical care of military personnel in combat settings as well as in CONUS hospitals and clinics operated by the military. In addition, the project pursues an integration effort to provide a coherent set of medical simulations and the related medical education/training curricula in which these simulations will be used. Finally, the project provides an architecture and a specific example of a regional model and associated simulations for use in preparing a CONUS region for its medical response to natural or man-made events involving mass destruction.
