Environmental Assessment for Construction and Operation of a Septic System at New Boston Air Force Station, New Hampshire

Abstract

The U.S. Air Force (USAF) proposes to construct and operate a septic system to treat sanitary wastewater at New Boston Air Force Station (NBAFS), New Hampshire. The proposed action would eliminate the need for a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. The proposed action would occur in and adjacent to the Operations Area in the northeast portion of the station. This environmental assessment evaluates the potential impacts of the proposed action and no-action alternative on air quality, noise, topography, geology, soils, water resources, ecological resources, cultural resources, land use, recreation, visual resources, socioeconomics, and health and safety. The proposed action would result primarily in small, localized, short-term impacts to the environment.
