The Maritime Strike Unit: Centerpiece for A National Military Strategy

Abstract

The Congress of the United States is in the process of making an error of catastrophic dimension. Ey mandating substantial naval force reductions, Congress is jeopardizing our potential as a maritime power, endangering our economic well being, and reducing our ability to continue to act as a stabilizing influence in world affairs. It is particularly ironic that these force reductions come at a time when a strong Navy can become the centerpiece of our national military strategy.
