Introduction of a Diagnosis Related Groups' Case Flat Rate System: Hopes and Fears (einfuerhrng eines drg-fallpauschalensystems - hoffnungen und aengste)

Abstract

This report endorses the introduction of an all-inclusive and comprehensive flat rate of deductible system of medical payment on the basis of DROs, or Diagnosis Medical Groups. The suggestions and ideas brought forward were collected at the ninth Neubiberg Hospital Forum in June 2000 and represent seven physicians' views on the matter, from economic feasibility; social need; and improved, long-term general welfare to the political and legal obstacles that inevitably will surface during this campaign.
