Environmental Assessment for Disposal of the Lualualei Buffer Parcel, Naval Magazine Pearl Harbor, Lualualei Branch, O'ahu, Hawaii

Abstract

Commander, Navy Region Hawaii proposes to dispose of the approximately 27-acre Lualualei Buffer Parcel at Naval Magazine Pearl Harbor, Lualualei Branch, Oahu, Hawaii. The property is to be disposed of in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) dated August 31, 1998, between the United States of America and State of Hawaii represented by the Governor of the State of Hawaii and by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL). The MOA was executed pursuant to the Hawaiian Home Land Recovery Act of 1995, Public Law 104-42, 109 Stat. DHHL plans to reuse the property consistent with the City and County of Honolulu's AG-1 Restricted Agricultural District development standards. Based on information gathered during preparation of the Environmental Assessment, the Navy finds that the proposed Disposal of the Lualualei Buffer Parcel will not significantly impact human health or the environment, and an Environmental Impact Statement is not required.
