Narrowband Mid-Infrared Generation in Elliptically Pumped Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate

Abstract

Narrow bandwidths and near diffraction limited beam divergence are demonstrated in an elliptically pumped, diode-laser seeded, optical parametric generator. This represents a significant step towards high-energy tunable infrared systems with favorable beam characteristics.
