Acquisition Level Definitions and Observables for Human Targets Urban Operations and the Global War on Terrorism

Abstract

This report describes revisions to the currently used definitions of target acquisition levels associated with the search and target acquisition process. These revised definitions address the classical acquisition terms of 1) detection, 2) classification, 3) recognition, and 4) identification.
