Rate Constants and Branching Ratios for the Dissociative Recombination of C(3)D(7)+ and C(4)D(9)+

Abstract

The dissociative recombination of C(3)D(7)+ was measured in the ion storage ring CRYRING. The higher mass separation offered from the deuterated species provided more accurate branching ratios than the data obtained previously for C(3)H(7)+. We obtained rate constants of 2.3 + or - 0.4 x 10(exp -7) cu cm s(exp -1) for C(3)D(7)+ and 5.8 + or - 1.1 x 10(exp -7) for C(4)D(9)-.
