Abstract

The scientific goal of this AFOSR MURI effort is to advance the state-of-the-art in design, implementation, and evaluation of network protocols to meet the needs of complex distributed systems. More specifically, the research has focused on: (1) the design and evaluation of protocols for real-time performance, fault tolerance and security, as well as protocols for mobile wireless environments; (2) the design and implementation of analysis/simulation tools to validate/evaluate protocols; and (3) the development of strategies and middleware to ease the programming of complex networked applications.
