Marine Corps Operational Medicine: Determining Medical Supply Needs of the Forward Resuscitative Surgery System and the Shock Trauma Platoon

Abstract

Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) was tasked by the Marine Corps Systems Command (SYSCOM) and the Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC) to review and update the Authorized Medical Allowance Lists (AMALs) for the FRSS (AMAL 645) and the STP (AMAL 631 and 632). The aim of this study was to determine how to augment the medical capabilities of these two MTFs without adding excessive weight and cube that could hamper the requirements of their original maneuver warfare missions.
