Tm Doped Fiber Laser Pumped by a Cladding-Pumped Er, Yb Fiber Laser

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking University of Southampton as follows: The Grantee will investigate a) optimization of the cladding- pumped Er-Yb doped fiber laser (EYDFL) for efficient pumping of Tm-doped fibers. b) Investigation of core-pumping of Tm-doped fibers using the EYDFL developed in task a c) design fabrication and demonstration of a high-power core-pumped multimode Tm-doped fiber laser and d) demonstration of high-power. single-mode output from the core-pumped Tm-doped fiber laser.
