Targeting Stromal Recruitment by Prostate Cancer Cells

Abstract

Sonic hedgehog(shh)overexpression in LNCaP cells accelerates tumor growth. To characterize the contributions of each Gli gene to Shh-induced tumor growth, Gli1, Gli2 and Gli3 knockout UGS-M cells have been isolated and UGSM-2 cells were transfected with the Gli expression vectors. Gli1 and Gli2 gene were overexpressed in the cell line, and we have confirmed activation of the downstream target genes Patch and Hip in the Gli2 overexpressed cells. Experiments using those cell lines in the xenograft model are currently being done.
