Maximizing Optical Power Throughput in Long Fiber Optic Links

Abstract

We present an analysis of the design considerations for creating a long, high-bandwidth, and high stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) threshold fiber optic link by concatenating lengths of differing fiber types. These considerations are then applied to the constructions of a 20.4-km link.
