Coronal Mass Ejection Research Using Solar Mass Ejection Imager (SMEI) Data

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking University of Birmingham as follows: The contractor will investigate data collected on coronal mass ejections (CME), and attempt to construct images of CMEs as they move towards the earth and predict their arrival. The objective of this research is to create a mathematical model for predicting the arrival and seventy of geomagnetic storms resulting from CMEs.
