Coherent Structures and Chaos Control in High-Power Microwave Devices

Abstract

This report summarizes research results obtained under the auspices of Air Force of Scientific Research, Grant No. F49620-03- 1-0230 (Chen, 2003). In particular, we conducted vigorous theoretical and computational investigations of coherent structures and chaos in a wide range of intense electron beam plasmas relevant to the development of high-power microwave sources for directed energy applications. The following is a brief summary of our research accomplishments in selected areas, while detailed findings are described in the preprints cited in this report.
