Development of a Business Case Analysis for the Acquisition of the Agile Rapid Global Combat Support (ARGCS) System

Abstract

The purpose of this project was to develop a business case analysis to examine the economic potential of the Agile Rapid Global Combat Support (ARGCS) system. Applying the business case, ARGCS may critically view to determine if the Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) showed a value returned for the expenditure of funds. This project was conducted with the sponsorship and assistance of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The goal of this project was to identify and outline the appropriate method and prepare a model for developing a business case for the incorporation of the ARGCS system into the maintaining of joint defense equipment. This study examined how integration of ARGCS would provide benefit to Naval Aviation as an augmentation to the Consolidated Automated Support Systems (CASS) currently in use in Aviation Intermediate Maintenance. The project developed a methodology to prepare a business case model which can be used to acquire actual cost data and for future business case analyses.
