Autonomic Fuselet Specification and Composition

Abstract

A framework for autonomic fuselet business logic development was developed, using semantic web services and workflow technologies to specify fuselet information needs, to define an executable workflow model for its business logic, and to perform workflow composition from a goal and specifications to executable model in a manner that enables feedback mechanisms that can assess and adapt the process model to satisfy needs. The framework for autonomic fuselet specification and composition consists of: the definition of ontology-based fuselet specifications in a variant of the Web Ontology Language for Services (OWL-S); the definition of fuselet business logic in the Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)' and a workflow composition engine that composes a fuselet-based workflow from other fuselets by deriving a BPEL process model from a fuselet goal and a set of fuselet specifications.
