Investigation of the Role of Immunoglobulin Classes and Subclasses in Humoral and Mucosal Immunity in Cetaceans

Abstract

We are interested in identifying and characterizing the various immunoglobulin isotypes in cetaceans and in furthering our understanding of these molecules and their roles and functions within the cetacean humoral and mucosal immune systems. The goal of the work outlined in the proposal was identification and characterization of the various immunoglobulin isotypes in cetaceans and to further our understanding of these molecules and their roles and functions within the cetacean humoral immune system.
