Mixed-Signal Electronics Technology for Space (MSETS)

Abstract

The purpose of this project was to stimulate development of analog and mixed-signal electronics technology for communications and other missions in space. The research was conducted by the Center for Design of Analog-Digital Integrated Circuits (CDADIC), headquarters at Washington State University, and consisting of multiple universities and industry partners. To accomplish the research goal, 14 projects were conducted by CDADIC university-industry teams in six major technical areas, as identified by AFRL. These six areas included: 1) System circuit modeling for VLSI circuit implementation; 2) Standard cell/topologies in radiation-hardened SOI; 3) Reconfigurable mixed-signal electronics; 4) System-on-a-chip; 5) Predictive radiation effects models; and 6) Ultra low-power technologies. Research covered all six areas.
