The Power to Raise and Support Armies: The Homosexual Exclusion Policy in Perspective

Abstract

This thesis examines the regulatory rationales for the homosexual exclusion policy. It discusses issues resolved in legal challenges to the policy and arguments advanced by plaintiffs. It takes a comprehensive view of homosexuality and compares characteristic traits of homosexuality to traits necessary for successful soldiering.
