Short Course on Quality Function Deployment for the U.S. Shipbuilding Industry

Abstract

The stated objective of this project was to "provide research services for development of technology transfer for use of quality function deployment (QFD) in the shipbuilding industry." In support of this objective, UMIRI MSD (1) researched (QFD) teaching methods and applications in shipbuilding and other industries, (2) developed a short course/workshop for teaching QFD to the U.S. shipbuilding industry, (3) presented three QFD workshops for the U.S. shipbuilding industry, and (4) combined the Instructor's Manual, User's Manual, course overheads, and video tapes into a package that can be borrowed from the NSRP Documentation Center and used as the foundation for future presentations of QFD short courses/workshops.
