The National Shipbuilding Research Program, 1992 Ship Production Symposium Proceedings, Paper No. 3B-3: Self Assessment of Advanced Shipbuilding Technology Implementation

Abstract

This report lists and describes ten factors and associated evaluation criteria which can be used to assess the degree of implementation of advanced shipbuilding technology in a shipyard. If the U.S. shipbuilding industry is to improve its competitive position in the global shipbuilding market it must move more quickly and agressively to implement productivity initiatives. To this end, two recommendations are presented at the conclusion of this report.
