Watershed Scale TMDL Model: Multidimensional Sediment Erosion, Transport, and Fate

Abstract

The purpose of this System-Wide Water Resources Program (SWWRP) technical note is to describe the new sediment transport routines in GSSHA, a watershed analysis and management tool that has the ability to simulate the movement of water, sediment, and associated constituents at fine-scale increments (<100 m) over watershed scale areas. The resulting tool is intended for analyzing project alternatives and best management practices (BMPs) designed to control sediments near the source, either on upland areas or in tributaries.
