Catalytic Reaction Sets: A First-Principle Approach to the Evolution of Communication

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking Universidade de Sao Paulo as follows: The Grantee will investigate how the information processing capability of an agent (i.e., the learning algorithm the agent uses to infer the meaning of a signal it receives and to decide which signal to emit given the environment variables) determines the structure of the language that emerges in the population.
