Remarks on the New 100-200 Mhz Receiver of the Solar Radio Observatory of the AIP at Tremsdorf Near Potsdam, Germany

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking Astrophysical Institute Potsdam as follows: Grantee will upgrade radio spectrometers allow collection of CME signature data it the 693-741 MHz and 316-337 MHz frequency ranges. This data will then be analyzed and compared to CME data from satellite collection systems. Known CME data from the satellite systems will help researchers determine if CME signatures can be detected from radio astronomical methods alone, without having to correlate the data with the satellites (14 to 48 hours after lift off from the corona). In effect, this will allow detection of CMEs 14 to 48 hours more quickly than current methods.
